The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii’s Young Professional program is run by a steering committee that oversees the various programs.  The committee is run by YP participants who help to develop new ideas that will benefit YPs in Hawaii.

Jennifer Hee

Divisional Executive Director  – The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands
2014-2015 Chair

Jennifer Hee is the Divisional Executive Director of The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands. She serves as the Chief Development Officer and is responsible for all Development functions for the organization’s entire division which includes Guam, Saipan, and Micronesia, and represents The Salvation Army as an ambassador of its mission. She most recently served as the Executive Director of the Arthritis Foundation Hawaii.

Kimberly Canepa

President – Junior Achievement of Hawaii
Vice Chair of Finance

Kim is the President of Junior Achievement of Hawaii and is the youngest Area President of Junior Achievement in the nation. Prior to joining Junior Achievement, she worked for the Business Advocacy Department at The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. She graduated from the University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business. She is an active member of Junior League of Honolulu and is on the Board of Directors of the Kalani Falcons Pop Warner Association as the Cheer Coordinator and Head Coach.

Christina is an owner and Realtor-Associate of Kahala Associates, an Oahu real estate brokerage. Before partnering with Yumi Laney in 2006, Christina was employed for the Salvation Army in Los Angeles. Christina is a graduate of Whittier College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and an emphasis in International Business. Her free time is spent planning events, supporting non-profit organizations, raising a family and enjoying the beauty Hawaii has to offer.

Staffing Coordinator – Staffing Solutions of Hawaii
Professional Development Chair

Cassie holds a Bachelor’s Degree  in Business Management and Marketing  from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She spent several years working as an assistant for  the Anchorage School District where worked with children that have Autism and Down’s syndrome. Cassie is responsible as the Staffing and Business Development Manager at Staffing Solutions of  Hawaii  for Government Contracting as well as managing the  SSOH team, executive search and recruiting.

Unyong Nakata

Director of Development, Shidler College of Business – UH Foundation
Exec Connect Chair

Unyong is the Director of Development for the Shidler College of Business at UH Manoa.  She has been employed at the UH Foundation for 7 years working herself up from marketing coordinator to lead fundraiser of the most developed alumni and fundraising program in the UH system. Unyong has a BS in microbiology and a MBA from Shidler College.  She loves to give back to her community through the Junior League of Honolulu and Malama Maunalua.

Maile Thompson

Director of Outreach, Project Vision Hawaii
Events Committee Chair

Maile Thompson is Director of Outreach for Project Vision Hawaii providing vision screenings to the state’s under-served communities. She also manages her family’s business importing maile lei from the Cook Islands to Hawaii. Thompson is an active member of the Junior League of Honolulu and volunteers with the YWCA of Oahu. She earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis on management from San Diego State University.

 

Jacob Noh

Account Executive AB&A, Exclusive Agent for HMAA
Membership Chair

Jacob is an Exclusive Agent for Hawai’i Medical Assurance Association and AB&A. From sales to marketing and client services, he provides and manages healthcare plans and Wellness initiatives throughout the state in keeping businesses and their employees healthy. Organizing community health fairs to volunteering with non-profit organizations such as the American Heart Association, he has been an advocate and ambassador for many years. Having graduated from Maryknoll High School and attending Chaminade University of Honolulu for Business Management, Jacob ensures opportunities for businesses to create a symbiotic relationship for a healthier business culture. He holds the same standards for Young Professional’s from the corporate climbing professional to the thriving entrepreneur on all levels as he serves as the Membership Chair.

Past Chair

Dennis a Personal Banking Officer with Bank of Hawaii. Dennis is always looking to meet great people with potential to accomplish great things.  Dennis holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministries from Central Bible College. He is a former military police investigator and U.S. Army paratrooper. Dennis has moved to Hawaii in 1999 and made Honolulu his home.
